"It doesn't work well with mine, either." He says that with an exasperated, little laugh. "I think looks can be deceiving. Some people are stronger than they look. Especially if they have powers."

But she doesn't seem sold on it, and he doesn't want to promise her that she'll be safe in the village when he doesn't know what it's like at all. All of the history documentaries he's watched tend to imply that this time period is sort of ravaged with violence.

"If being safe is important to you, I think you should be an apprentice. You don't have to fight or protect yourself, I think. It sounds like they take care of you." At least, a little more than anyone else here.
