An impulse is what guides your feet into the shadows. They seem to move on their own, guiding you further into the darkness until you begin to trudge into the faint shimmer of light in the distance.

Your feet hit hard stone, the light of the torches mounted on high, stone walls illuminating the halls of the castle. You're soaking wet and you turn, the door behind you revealing an unfamiliar scene and heavy rainfalls. Do you want to wander back into that? Yes? Well, too bad. Two women approach, faces hidden by low helmets with red capes draped over their shoulders. Their apparel beyond that is.. questionable, but they have swords and you don't.

They lead you to a bright hall and walk you into the center of the room, just below several flights of stairs. When you look up, it's impossible to look away. The woman before you is surrounded by a shroud of ginger hair and not much else. One leather clad leg folds over the other and she stares down her lashes at you.

"You have no idea why you're here, do you? Funny, I just lost my last apprentice.." She quirks a brow, but she doesn't give you time to intervene. "Pissing down, is it? I suppose you'll have to stay the night and sort yourself out." She sounds exasperated, flicking her hand in some vague direction as if motioning for you to go already.

The guards are already leading you away, by force if they must. With another gesture, the Mistress magics the doors shut behind you. The guards lead you to your room for the night. There's food on a table, a made bed, clothes that just happen to be your size and a warm fire lighting the room.

On the bed, a large book with the title "SO YOU'VE BEEN SHANGHAIED. A guide to dealing with new opportunities." sits on the bed. Whether you read it or not, you have twenty four hours to "figure yourself out" before you become acquainted with the dirt outside the castle.
