Exasperated or no, it was still a laugh, and one that was deeply appreciated.

"Normally, I would agree with you. However, if I did have powers, I would consider them more defensive than anything." She paused, then shrugged. "If I had powers, of course."

Kind as Simon had been, she wasn't so willing to trust him. As it was, she technically didn't have powers. She'd figured out as much in the first few minutes of being there. Without eridium or the chair, her powers should have spiked out of control.

And yet, there had been nothing.

"I think you might be right." She offered him a short nod. "At least I know there is at least one brave and kind guard to watch over me."
