He lets her go, at least in body - as she walks away, he whispers to himself:

"I've got time, babe."

Moments later, though, a niggling doubt comes to him - does he have time? Doesn't he, in fact, have every reason to believe that he is a perfectly ordinary human ever since his arrival here?

He hopes he doesn't get the chance to find the answers to the questions that arise from that.
