[Her arm falls back down, and she stretches, yawning, then laughs.]

He can admit that. It's nice, basking in the afterglow next to a beautiful woman. And it sort of makes him wonder what took him so long to do this, when Sirius was shagging every girl in sight at school?

He watches her stretch and eases himself to lay back against the pillows.]

[Rolling onto her back, she laces her hands behind her head and looks up at the ceiling.]

[Remus glances at her sidelong and smiles.]

Yeah, there's...not much proper about this place anyway. But...I like being around you. So if you want to stay, you should.

[She turns her head a little to smile back. She looks gentler now than she has before, the afterglow robbing her face of its hardness and sorrow. There is a softness there that, were she to see it, she would not recognise in herself.]

Then I shall stay. For I like your company, too.

And if this were to happen, Remus... I am glad it was with you.

[Remus chews his lip for a moment, worrying at kiss-bruised skin as he watches her. She looks so different, now, so much gentler. It's strange, but it suits her, he thinks.]

...Me, too. Really. Makes me regret signing up for this a lot less.

[She laughs, low in her throat.]

As does knowing I was not alone in regretting my choice!

[Without thinking, Remus leans over and brushes a strand of hair away from her face.]
