[Not too long should pass in order for Ignis to come into account of this detail. A very important detail regarding his new life: his rather humble income. While it was better than nothing (and but of course, how could anyone think of living without a proper job?), the payment hardly sufficed for the usual needs he required on his daily living. Barely proper food, unless he decided to set himself to hunt, like in the good old days.

Only he lacked the proper weaponry in order to do so. And Ignis was definitely not feeling suicidal enough to venture himself in the depths of lands he hardly knew.

His pondering met an end as soon as an empty jar was found under the bed. The request? Fill it up. With mushrooms. Mushrooms? Okay, that was something he could think of hunting without risking his life. Or anyone's, giving how he was supposed to go solo on this one, until a certain former prince decided to tag along on the quest.

Not like he could complain.

The evening was warm and nice for exploring, empty jars in their hands as they seeked for rare mushrooms they could collect.]

I truly appreciate your concern about my current finances, Majesty, yet is nothing I can't handle without proper control of my expenses for the moment.

[And Ignis appreciates all this: appreciates crossing paths with Noctis in this world, appreciates having the King (former King… he has to remind himself) worried about him and being so willing and keen to help. It's… unusual, new, heartwarming for Ignis.]

Noct… is just… [And in all honesty, had he ever said no to Noctis before? ] You have to swear to me you have your daily needs covered. Promise to me.

[Now back into the mushroom…] It well could be, yet it isn't a type I had seen around before. Besides, what wrong could happen from just picking it from the ground?

_{[He will be a king again. He will eventually go home but he isn't unhappy to live this way for now. He doesn't have any responsibilities here. He is good to go, just follow menial orders and make fun of Ardyn.]}

Ignis... I promise. I can even bring you some of my food if you want. We can share, they overfeed me in the barracks.

And who knows?? It might poison you just by touching it. Don't pick that thing up, it looks like death.

[In all honesty, it is… nice to have some peace, of sorts. No war, no responsibilities--aside his job at the bakery. Noctis' kindness makes him smile, and it earns him a gentle squeeze on his shoulder as they examine the mushroom together.]

Do you think so? It looks rather… sexual, to me. [That or maybe crafting pastries with funny shapes is taking it's toll on him. As soon as he plucks the mushroom from the ground… well. Nothing happens. Except for that scent he perceives, making him sneeze almost instantly.]

See? Nothing warrant attention.

What? Really? When did you make those? Ignis, you should eat all your food. _{[Even now, he's trying to take care of him... Ignis will never stop.]}

I guess? I just think you should leave it alone... Ignis... Ignis stop. _{[That thing gives him the willies and he doesn't like the red burst of spores that fly into the air as Ignis sneezes on the shroom. He groans. Now they're going to breathe it in and catch death.]}

Really. And that red spore cloud was nothing at all. We're not about to break out in hives or something worse.

Unlikely, unless you'd rather me earning some undesired weight thanks to them. I would prefer sharing. [And of course he cares of you, it's been his job for quite some time, hard to quit after all these years.] Well, I work at our humble bakery in town. Have you paid us a visit yet, Noct?

[Pastries aside, the spores manage to make his nose feel ticklish, sneezing some more at the red dust. And not to mention that smell--well, jokes on him for being so reckless. He coughs, though the mushroom is now safe inside the jar.]

My… apologies, I got carried away by our hunting. I don't think this small amount of spores take any toll on us, though.

[Although he does begin feeling rather hot now, unbuttoning his shirt without even realizing.]

Oh, but you'll pass the weight on to me. Thanks. <sub>[He cares too, he likes Ignis... more than likes him if he's honest but he doesn't want to be honest with himself, he wants to have money to get Ignis some decent digs.

He sighs at the red spores.]</sub>

No, and I don't think I will anytime soon seeing as how I am fresh out of gold. I might come to see you though.

...what, are you hot or something? _{[It hasn't hit him yet. He's just wondering what is up with Ignis.]}

Right, I gotta find another... another shroom. A less creepy one.

One in a blue moon won't do harm, in my humble opinion. [And besides, he does like the sharing for the sake of having the King's company even for just a while, as well as pampering him with treats like he always has. And always would, should Noctis allow him stay by his side. Hopefully and, one day, he would do more than just indulge him with edible treats.

It comes to his attention though, how Noctis points at his gesture, making Ignis stop before undoing the next button of his shirt.] I… I am, indeed. It suddenly felt rather warm, don't you think so?

[As well, his attention is suddenly drawn to Noctis… and his attire. Or lack of it. And his physique--my, how has he grown. And how fine: slender yet toned muscles shaping his frame. Cat-like eyes searching for some more mushrooms, and why was he thinking all this? Was he staring? Would Noctis realize? He has to know.]

Noct… don't you feel, by any chance… odd?
